KAZENERGY and KIOGE – the Caspian Sea region’s top oil and gas events in 2011
In 2011, the most significant oil and gas events in Kazakhstan and the Caspian Sea region will be the 6th KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum and 19th Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference (KIOGE).
Like last year, the events will take place consecutively: the KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum in Astana on 4-5 October and KIOGE in Almaty on 5-8 October.
The accredited organiser of the 6th KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum will be ITE Group plc (which includes the Kazakhstani company Iteca). An agreement on this has been reached between the KAZENERGY Association and ITE Group.
A press conference on the preparations for the 6th KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum, which will take place in Independence Palace, was held on 17 May 2011.
The press conference was attended by: Dzhambulat Sarsenov, General Director of the KAZENERGY Association; Serikbek Elshibekov, General Manager for Business Support, KazMunayGaz; Rzabek Artygaliev, General Manager of Government and Public Relations, Tengizchevroil; and Yuri Borodikhin, Executive Director of Iteca.
“We are pleased that two major oil and gas events will be held together (I mean KAZENERGY and KIOGE). The collaboration with Iteca will begin in October at the forum in Astana and continue later in Almaty at KIOGE. Today an agreement was signed with Iteca and our agreements have found a legal basis. We are confident that our joint efforts will raise the event to a higher level, and give the forum a higher status,” said Mr. Sarsenov.
The KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum is a momentous political event in the petroleum and energy industry of Kazakhstan and the Caspian Sea region. The KIOGE conference focuses on the technical side of the oil and gas industry. The KIOGE exhibition, which is held in Almaty, has traditionally provided an opportunity for companies to make themselves known as serious business partners, assess the competitiveness of their products and learn about promising developments in areas of interest to them. The unifying theme of these events will be the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Every year, about 1000 delegates from 40 countries attend the KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum in Astana. Government support for the 6th KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum will be provided by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Oil and Gas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Industry and New Technology, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. The general sponsors of the event will be KazMunayGas and Tengizchevroil. The 6th KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum will be moderated by Larry King, the famous American broadcaster and journalist. Under the auspices of the KAZENERGY Eurasian Forum, a G2B exhibition will be held in the same venue, the subject of which will be health, labour and environmental protection.
KIOGE traditionally brings together about 500 companies from 30 countries at the exhibition and over 1000 delegates at the conference. At the Atakent Exhibition Centre in Almaty, national stands will be presented by the following countries: Germany, Italy, Canada, China, Russia and France. The plenary session of the KIOGE conference will focus on the 100th anniversary of commercial oil production in Kazakhstan. KIOGE is organised by Iteca (Kazakhstan) and ITE Group plc (UK), together with partners from Russia, Germany, Turkey, China and the UAE.
