KIOGE 2012: A new format for a prestigious event

Over the past two decades, about 900 million tons of oil and gas condensate has been produced in Kazakhstan, and over $113 billion was invested in the country’s oil and gas sector from 1996 to 2010.

Following geological and geophysical exploration of the Caspian shelf, over 120 promising fields have been discovered, including Kashagan, one of the largest oil and gas deposits in the world.

What has 20 years brought to Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry? It has seen Kazakhstan become known as a country with an increasingly fast-growing oil and gas industry. Specialised exhibitions and conferences are a key business platform for participating countries, and KIOGE has become the foundation of sustainable development not just for the oil and gas industry, but for Kazakhstan as a whole.

With ambassadors from a range of countries sending their compliments to KIOGE every year, the event - the driving force of Kazakhstan’s exhibition industry - brings together leading experts and major figures in the oil and gas industry of the entire Caspian region.

In this anniversary year for KIOGE, the event’s regular format has been modified, with official invites with guests of honour attending on the third day of the event, allowing the first two days to be entirely devoted to a B2B format. KIOGE 2012 will again occupy five pavilions of the Atakent Exhibition Centre, welcoming close to 600 exhibiting companies from over 30 countries between 2 and 5 October 2012.

Over 40% of exhibition space will be taken up by internationally-known companies, most of which are regular exhibitors at the event. With 10% of space occupied by newcomers to the Kazakhstan market, this constant interest in KIOGE cements Kazakhstan’s place in the global oil community and its leading position within the region.
