THOUSANDS OF OIL AND GAS PROFESSIONALS TO ATTEND KIOGE

ALMATY, KAZAKHSTAN – Over 6,000 local and international oil and gas industry professionals are expected to attend the Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference (KIOGE), taking place on 30 September – 3 October 2014 in Almaty.

Graeme Coombes, Head of Oil and Gas Division, ITE Group Plc states: "KIOGE was developed to help international companies access the domestic oil and gas market, and assist local companies to source international partners".

62% of the country is occupied by oil and gas areas, and there are 172 oil fields, of which more than 80 are under development. Oil fields can be found in six of the 14 provinces; thus, positioning Kazakhstan as a potentially lucrative market for companies entering this emerging market.

Participants will hear about the $500m which will be invested from 2015 – 2018 in major government programmes for the exploration of deep horizons in the Caspian Basin, aimed at doubling the oil potential of Kazakhstan, in addition to the $300m investment for industry modernisation programmes.
