RESULTS OF ONLINE CONFERENCE: The new future of the oil and gas industry: an era of changes.

From September 30 to October 1, 2020, under the auspices of the KIOGE 2020 exhibition and conference, for the first time in an online format, A conference for oil and gas sector specialists, dedicated to discussing the further development of the oil and gas industry, the selected development strategies and the attractiveness of the green economy as the most favorable vector for moving the industry forward, was held for the first time in an online format, under the auspices of the KIOGE 2020 exhibition and conference on September, 30th - October, 1st, 2020.

During two days of its work, the online conference proved to be an effective platform for productive dialogue, discussions and setting plans for the post-pandemic period, where representatives of government bodies, industry associations, international experts and CEOs of the largest companies in the market could discuss in a live dialogue all pressing issues facing the industry in new realities.
521 visitors were registered during the event.

On September 30th, a plenary session was held to review and forecast the current state of the industry in Kazakhstan and the world, discuss post-pandemic development strategies using the example of the largest companies. Speakers were Murat Zhurebekov, First Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alik Aidarbayev, Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas JSC, Bolat Akchulakov, General Director of KAZENERGY Association, Imer Bonner, General Director of Tengizchevroil LLP, Richard Hove, Managing Director of North Caspian Operating Company NV, Baltabek Kuandykov, President of the Union of Oil Geologists of Kazakhstan, and Rashid Zhaksylykov, Chairman of the Presidium of the Union of Oilfield Service Companies KazService.
Presentations by Denis Borisov, Director of the EY Moscow Oil and Gas Center, and Tim Gould, Head of the Energy and Investment Prospects Department of the International Energy Agency IEA, aroused great interest and attention from the audience of the online conference. The plenary session turned out to be very capacious in content, thanks to the presentation of the most relevant industry information from our speakers and moderation from Arman Satimov, Advisor to the Chairman of the KAZENERGY Association.

During the first day of , an interview with the operator of North Caspian Operating Company N.V. was held under the professional moderation of Daurzhan Augambay, a member of the Presidium of the Union of Oil Service Companies of Kazakhstan.

 Nurlan Zhumagulov, General Director of KazService, Yermek Marabaev, Deputy Managing Director of NCOC, and Daurbek Utezhanov, Manager on Local Content of NCOC, discussed the implementation of goals and initiatives within the framework of local content of oil projects.

The second day of the online conference, October 1st, gathered a wide audience consisting of domestic manufacturers and representatives of IT companies working in the oil and gas industry. The focus was on local content, green economy and digital solutions for oil and gas companies. Serikkali Brekeshev, Vice Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Rustem Kabzhanov, General Director of the Kazakhstan Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives "ECOJER" , Kuanyshbek Mukhanov, Director of Health, Safety and Environment, NCOC took part in a panel discussion on “From oil production to petrochemistry, focus on local content, non-resource opportunities and green growth”.
Olzhas Baidildinov, Director of the oil service company, an author and a host of “Baideldinov. Oil”program, was a leading moderator of this panel discussion.

 The online conference ended with a panel discussion organized jointly with the Partner Company Kaspersky Lab, on the topic: "Optimizing the costs of oil and gas companies using digital solutions." The discussion was moderated by Yevgeny Pitolin, Managing Director of Kaspersky Lab, among the invited speakers there were the Vice Minister of Digital Development and Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ablaykhan Ospanov and representatives of NAC Kazatomprom JSC, Atyrau Hub, Prime Source, PwC Norway, and Kazakhstani British University of Technology.

Mario Krpan, Head of the Energy and Clean Technologies Group for EMEA (Canada), and Rasmus Peterson, Director of the Energy Center, PwC Norway, shared their international experience through their companies.

 The online conference was officially supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazMunaiGas NC JSC, KAZENERGY Association, KazService Associations of Oil Service Companies of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Society of oilers and geologists, and Petrocouncil.kz Oil and Gas Strategic Partnership Development Council.
