Oil production commenced at Kashagan - NCOC

Almaty. September 11. KazTAG - First oil has been extracted at Kashagan, reports North Caspian Operating Company B.V. (NCOC).

"NCOC on behalf of the consortium within the frameworks of products share agreement in the Caspian Sea announced that the first well has been re-activated today and first oil volumes have been produced," the message reports.

The company reminded that Kazakhstani leader Nursultan Nazarbayev attended Kashagan objects on June 30 on the occasion of finalized construction works necessary for the initial production stage. That day commemorated the final preparation stage for the objects' launch on the project.

Kashagan field is a huge oil deposit in the Caspian Sea with preliminary 35 bln barrels stocks. Further development projects will boost oil production to the level of the most significant players of the hydrocarbons world market.
