Shell plc. (Shell) is an international energy company with expertise in the exploration, production, refining and marketing of oil and natural gas, and the manufacturing and marketing of chemicals. In the early 1990s, the Company became one of the first foreign investors to establish its presence in Kazakhstan by participating in appraisal of the country’s hydrocarbon reserves and since then has played a leading role in the development of the country’s oil and gas sector.

With an investment to date of over $18 billion, Shell is one of the largest foreign direct investors in Kazakhstan. In 2023, Shell celebrated its 30th year in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Karachaganak Final Production Sharing Agreement (Shell’s share - 29.25%)
Caspian Pipeline Consortium (Shell’s share - 7.4%).
