ROSEN takes up challenges on everyday basis

In ROSEN we know that assets in the Oil and Gas industry face a variety of challenges and threats. With our wide-ranging expertise, our large tool fleet and our technology portfolio, we can help you meet these challenges.

One of the challenges is the so-called unpiggable pipelines. Typically, it is a combination of various circumstances relating to pipeline design, operating conditions, and/or product properties that prevents a successful inline inspection using traditional methods. At ROSEN, however, we refuse to accept this as a fact. This is why we have dedicated an entire diagnostics division to finding ILI solutions for what we refer to as challenging pipelines.

As each challenge is unique, building a specific tool for each solution is not feasible. Therefore, a flexible approach is needed, that can be adapted to each individual case. The key to the optimal solution is the “ROSEN Toolbox” approach. It consists of complementing units, such as technologies, methods, and market knowledge, which together enable our Solution Experts to optimally address each challenge.

A typical solution package for a challenging pipeline service consists of various elements, including:
- Engineering studies and project management
- Comprehensive pipeline preparation, cleaning and sediment profiling
- The most suitable sensor technology, including MFL, UT, EMAT, EC, etc.
- Specialized tools, including free-swimming, robotic, tethered, etc.
- All necessary auxiliary equipment, including temporary traps, pumps, etc.
- Tool tracking and monitoring systems
- Best-quality data collection under adverse inspection circumstances.

ROSEN Challenging Pipeline Diagnostics has the ability to decode the most specific information about your challenging pipelines, thus enabling ROSEN to deliver the all-important data and offer the knowledge necessary for results management and optimal operation of your asset.

Another challenge is inspection of a storage tank bottom due to difficult-to-access areas. The ROSEN Storage Tank Inspection Service is provided with utilizing TBIT Ultra and BZS scanner. Where corrosion is one of the most common threats to lifetime performance, ROSEN Tank Inspection Service can help ensure tank integrity. Through sensitive detection and diagnosis, the ROSEN state-of-the-art scanners are capable of accurately sizing the smallest metal loss defects and deliver fast results, which inform decisions now and aid with planning for the future. Early detection of the presence or absence of any small defect indications enables operators to obtain more precise corrosion rate determinations, reduces the costs of ownership and extends the inspection interval.

The ROSEN Tank Inspection Services include API 653/EEMUA 159/STI assessments, tank bottom inspections using our Tank Bottom Inspection Tool (TBIT Ultra) and Blind Zone Scanner (BZS), compliance verification taking into account all required measurements, API 579 Fitness for Service tank assessment and a detailed repair plan (QA/QC). The TBIT Ultra provides industry leading performance in automated and accurate sizing, including the smallest metal loss defects. The TBIT Ultra Service allows for maximum coverage of the tank floor by using a remote-control tank floor scanner for difficult-to-access areas (e.g. under piping or heating coils). In addition, a dedicated Blind Zone Scanner (BZS) for areas that otherwise remain uninspected due to the physical limitations of the floor scanner significantly reduces the risk of missing relevant metal loss defects an areas normally not being covered by floor scanners.
A demo version of the ROSEN Tank Bottom Inspection Tool will be shown at KIOGE 2024. Come to our booth and speak with the ROSEN experts to find out more about our top-notch technologies and customized solutions.
