On the employment of residents of the Atyrau region after projects in Tengiz

CaspianLife, June 27. In connection with the completion of construction works on the Future Growth Project of Tengizchevroil LLP, over 18 thousand citizens of Kazakhstan were dismissed at the Tengiz field.

Of these, 38% are residents of the Atyrau region. Currently, work is actively underway to employ them in other companies, according to the regional communications service (RSK).
In the first five months of this year, 80% of the more than two thousand dismissed employees were covered by social support measures.

– Of these, 399 people were employed in permanent jobs, 35 were sent for training under the Bastau Business project, 29 were sent for paid community service, six people - for social jobs, three - for youth practice. As of today, 29 people are individual entrepreneurs, over one thousand people have received social benefits, - Azamat Mambetov, the Head of the Regional Department for the Coordination of Employment and Social Programs, said.

Kazakh Construction LLP, which carries out works on the Construction of a Gas Processing Plant project at the Kashagan field, employs 1,390 people, more than half of whom are residents of the Atyrau region. According to Azamat Mambetov, measures to employ citizens for permanent jobs are being implemented according to applications received from employers.
