Export of specialists to Qatar

An example of successful cooperation between TCO and local businesses is the construction of a third-generation Future Growth Project / Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP-WPMP) plant, which uses high technologies. Kazakhstani companies gained access to the best international practices in it and increased their competitiveness, efficiency and resistance to changes in the market.

One of the companies whose acquired experience has allowed them to expand their capabilities and potential many times over is Atyrau CHI Electric LLP. Today it is an international professional organization with an extensive range of diverse services, including construction, installation, provision of specialized personnel and advanced equipment.
Years of work on the project have allowed CHI Electric LLP to create a good base of specialists from various industries at the international level. About 2.5 thousand people have passed international certification, have certificates, licenses and appropriate permits.

During the construction period, the specialists worked according to international standards, drawings and instructions. This allowed them to prepare for difficult tasks. The presence of experienced personnel will allow participating in the implementation of large-scale projects, including international ones.

“The Tengiz project gave our employees the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and acquire new skills”, Olzhas Sultan, the Deputy Director of CHI Electric LLP, says. – Today, Kazakhstan cannot cover all the personnel that was released after the completion of the construction of the plant in Tengiz. That’s why we offer our employees jobs outside the country. The qualifications of our specialists are very high”.

According to the Director, CHI Electric is the first company in Kazakhstan that has registered in Qatar and received all the necessary permits, certificates and licenses to work in this state.
“Our highly qualified specialists are already working in Qatar, and we continue to explore the market of this country in search of further application of our human resources and, in general, the capabilities of our company. At the moment, negotiations are underway with one of the projects in Qatar. For this we are training 80 specialists from the Atyrau region who worked at the Tengiz field”, Olzhas Sultan shared his plans.

CHI Electric is now entering the Russian market. Russia is an important and reliable business partner for the company. Similar climatic conditions contribute to the rapid adaptation of Kazakhstani specialists. According to Olzhas Sultan, it is extremely important for Kazakhstani companies to adopt the HR strategy applied by TCO.

The path to international success
ANCON LLP also took part in the construction of the new generation plant, which carried out the necessary theoretical and practical trainings for employees, as well as successfully applied advanced methods in the field of project management in accordance with the standards of the Association of Project Managers.
“This project has become a valuable source of knowledge for our employees, provided an opportunity to expand professional skills and acquire new skills. In my opinion, this, in turn, contributed to their personal development, allowing them to become even more in-demand specialists at the international level”, Nurzhan Mamutov, the Director of the Company, said.
The company itself specializes in the construction of infrastructure and industrial facilities, within the framework of cooperation with TCO, the company laid aboveground and underground cables, carried out work on splicing fiber-optic cables, disconnecting and testing optical distribution crosses. ANCON aims to become an internationally recognized company in the field of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) in the industrial sector.

“Our partnership relations with TCO plays an important role in expanding the geography of our services and sharing experiences. Thanks to our participation in the project, we cooperate with foreign companies in various fields, such as oil and gas, telecommunications. Our partners represent countries such as Slovakia, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, Russia, and Korea”, Nurzhan Mamutov said.

Thanks to this project, Tengizchevroil helped create a whole galaxy of highly qualified local personnel – more than 20 thousand Kazakhstanis who can further apply their experience and knowledge in other major projects in the country and abroad.

It is worth noting that since 1993, TCO has made direct financial payments to Kazakhstan in the amount of more than 190 billion US dollars, according to the results of an independent study, production activities annually provided about 11% of the country’s GDP.
