Founded in 1922, DENSO Group Germany has become one of the worldwide leading producers of corrosion protection coatings for pipelines. DENSO’ success story commenced with the worldwide first passive corrosion prevention system for pipelines – the Petrolatum DENSO®-Tape – which was patented in 1927.

DENSO’ core business consists of the development and production of cold-applied co-extruded 3-ply PE/Butyl tape systems DENSOLEN®, primer-free cold-applied SEALID® All-in-1 Tape, DEKOTEC® heat shrinkable sleeves, DENSO® petrolatum tapes, DENSOLID® polyurethane coatings, DEXPAND® carbon fiber repair systems and many more. For more than 100 years, DENSO Group Germany represents experience, quality and reliability for corrosion prevention and sealing technology. 

We are proud to have celebrated a special anniversary last year: 50 years since the invention of DENSOLEN® tape - the world's first co-extruded three-ply tape based on polyethylene and butyl rubber. With this invention, we set a new standard in corrosion protection in terms of quality, safety, and durability. The combination of polyethylene and butyl rubber has since been the foundation of the success of our cold-applied tapes.

  

Various further developments of different tape compositions and system solutions followed. Innovative devices for simple and fast wrapping of the tapes for a wide range of applications and pipe diameters were also developed in-house during this time and guarantee efficient processing.
In over 60 countries, the DENSOLEN® product family provides reliable protection for a wide range of requirements. This makes DENSO Group Germany the leading supplier of three-ply PE/butyl rubber corrosion protection tapes. And we are not standing still, but continuing our developments: as recently as 2021, we launched DENSOLEN®-AS40 HT, the world's first high-temperature-resistant single tape system for operating temperatures up to +100 °C.
