At the Atyrau refinery, a completely new product was developed that has no analogues in Kazakhstan. It is a winter diesel fuel with a maximum filterability temperature (MFT) of -32. This was announced at the V international conference, "Oil Refining and Petrochemistry of the Caspian and Central Asia", by the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunaiGaz NC on the transportation, processing and marketing of oil, Daniyar Tiesov, the press service of the refinery reported.
"New diesel fuel is entirely domestic product, so we called it Khazar-32. This name was chosen according to the voting results of the plant’s workers. By its qualities, it corresponds to K5 environmental class, that is, it has a minimum sulphur content, which means it is less harmful to the environment," Daniyar Tiesov said.
According to Tiesov, the new type of diesel fuel will be able to withstand the Kazakh frosts, which means it will be in demand among the residents of the republic.
"A new product was produced at a deep oil refining complex built as part of the refinery modernisation. It is the largest complex of technological installations in Kazakhstan that produces motor fuel corresponding to K4 and K5 classes and allows to increase the volume of oil refining at the Atyrau refinery to 5.5 million tonnes," he stressed.
