KIOGE Conference changes format

KIOGE, the Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Conference, will take place in a new format this year. Drawing on their extensive international experience in organising business events, the organisers have decided to expand the practical aspect of the conference to enable delegates and speakers to discuss key issues in more detail.

The conference programme will now consist of a plenary session, five round table discussions, two sessions on oilfield services, and seminars on HR services for oil and gas companies. On Day 1, four sessions will take place on the following topics:

  • Effective Cooperation between Oil, Gas, and Service Companies
  • Oilfield Infrastructure Construction and Development
  • Modern Technologies in Oil and Gas Exploration
  • Developing Oil and Gas Fields: Performance Evaluation

Day 2 will open with a round table discussion on Drilling and Extraction: Cost Optimisation, followed by the round table Investment Agreements in New Market Conditions.

A key challenge for any company during an economic crisis is retaining valuable employees amid declining wages and social benefits. At the Human Resources for the Oil and Gas Industry seminar, experts will use case studies to discuss staff optimisation, the importance of internal communications in times of crises, and technology for creating and developing a personnel reserve.

A significant issue for Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry is hiring local staff. Many foreign companies operating in Kazakhstan comply with legislation on this topic. The round table discussion Valuable Cooperation in Developing Kazakhstan’s Work Force will cover best practices in this area and will involve representatives of companies and government bodies. Participants will get the opportunity to have an open dialogue on all issues relating to hiring local staff in the oil and gas industry.

In addition, the opportunity for B2B meetings in dedicated rooms will be made possible at the event and can be arranged in advance.

Another key change is that of the venue. The conference will now take place alongside the KIOGE exhibition at Best Western Atakent Park Hotel, enabling companies to not only discuss their products at the conference, but also to showcase them at the exhibition. All five of Atakent KBCC’s pavilions are located within five minutes’ walk of the hotel. The KIOGE 2016 exhibition will take place from 5-7 October.

KIOGE remains one of the largest industry events in Kazakhstan and these changes are designed to create the best networking conditions for industry professionals.

The organisers are Kazakhstan Exhibition Company Iteca and its international partners: ITE Group, GIMA (Germany), ITE China, ITE Moscow (Russia), and EUF (Turkey).
